Coach Training
Coach Training includes 2 parts, the coach-specific training and the Coaches Safe Haven Training.
Coach classes are scheduled periodically, usually just before the start of the Fall and Spring seasons. Check the calender to find out the current coach training schedule. If you can't make that class, or a class isn't currently scheduled, please contact our Coach Administrator who will assist you in getting the necessary training.
Coaching Certification Levels:
AYSO offers 7 levels of coach certification:
- U6
- U8
- U10
- U12
- U14
- U16
- U19
Each level presents information and skills relevant to the age level. Please check the calender for upcoming training dates or contact the Coach Commissioner if you need a class. And, all training is free, all we ask for is a bit of your time!
On-Line Coaches Training
Currently, the following coaches courses are available on-line:
- Safe Haven Certification for Coaches (Course C001)
- U8 Coach (C002)
- U10 Coach (C003)
To take any of these online courses, you must be a registered AYSO volunteer. On-line training is available at www.aysotraining.org.
To access the online courses and receive certification or credit, you must be a registered AYSO volunteer with an AYSO ID number, and have access to a computer with Internet and Flash Player 8. If you do not have an AYSO ID number, the system will direct you on how receive one. (Remember, there will be a delay in receiving your ID number, the system will take time to process your request.) When you first access one of the online courses, the system will recognize if your computer has Flash Player 8 capabilities or not. If not, a "Free Download" icon will appear. Follow the download instructions.
Upon completion (and, in some cases, passing a test), you will be able to print a certificate of successful completion, and your volunteer record will be updated in eAYSO. (eAYSO updates occur weekly.)
